Each time a Colombian manages to overcome their poverty, millions more are happy and filled with hope. The work done by the government of Juan Manuel Santos has not only tried to dignify the lives of the neediest in the country, but to give them a solid foundation for their conditions change once and forever substantially. All images and the lives we see on this page are part of this great history in which Social Prosperity says #OvercomingPoverty |

“We
are nine women and a man because we are inclusive. We are mothers and wives who
want to build our own income and not depend only on our husbands earnings. This
is not well seen by Arauca´s people which they are a bit sexist. We say we are
"The unemployed walkers", supposedly we should not be on the street
but at home preparing food for our family, but we don´t care what people say. To start, each one contributed with three liters of milk, we began to save
money and started training. At first everything was borrowed, today we have our
pots, stoves and boilers and produce yogurt, caramel and hallacas for special
occasions. We want to grow as business, have our own headquarters and sell
beyond the department´s borders. Our key for success was to think that as women
we can get ahead as entrepreneurs who are meant to do a lot in life, not only cooking
food in the house.”
